Jürgen von Wechmar

Jürgen started his career as sound engineer and music producer in early 1991. While studying Electric/Electronic engineering at Stellenbosch University he also played guitar for various bands. During this time very little infrastructure was available for up-and-coming original South African bands. This led to Jürgen starting a home recording studio for the purpose of doing demos for his band Ark. At the end of 1995 his hobby turned into a professional venture and Sunset Recording Studios was born. Jürgen soon became popular among local bands and artists. Today Jurgen’s client base has grown to a national and international level with credits on more than 250 albums and an abundance of hit singles and award winning records. Jürgen also specializes in remote mixing for clients all over the world.
